Guides - Install the Homebrew Channel
The Homebrew Channel installs a channel in your Wii menu which you can then use to install Virtual Console and WiiWare and install/run Homebrew software. Using this, you don't have to run the Twilight Hack every time you want to install/run Virtual Console, WiiWare and Homebrew.
There are two possible ways to install the Homebrew Channel:
If you have a modified Wii and System Menu 3.2 or earlier, you can just use the Install Disc.
If you are not using a modchip or you're on System Menu 3.3 or later, you can follow the guide below:
Required Files: (Available at Downloads)Twilight Hack BIN file Homebrew Channel DOL file
1. This hack will use the save game of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Back-up your Zelda save first to another SD card or to your PC. You may then delete it from your Wii. 2. Format your SD card as FAT16 or FAT in Windows. Right click on the SD card then select Format in My Computer. 3. Download the Twilight Hack and the Homebrew Channel DOL file. 4. Extract the Twilight Hack file then copy the private folder on your SD card. 5. Extract the Homebrew Channel DOL file then place it on the root of the SD card. This means that you just place it on the SD card and not inside any folders. Tip: Make sure you select Safely Remove or Eject when removing the SD card from Windows as not doing so may cause problems. 6. Start up your Wii, go to Settings, then Data Management, then Wii. Click on the SD tab and copy the file called Twilight Hack into the Wii. 7. Start the Zelda game. then load the corresponding save file depending on your copy of the game. The easiest way to check your version is to compare the text string which is on the inner cycle of the data surface with the ones below.
If you have a pirated/burned/copied game, it will be easily to know which save file to load if you have a Japanese, Asian, European or Australian version. But if you have a US version, take an educated guess from between the three or use trial and error.
8. After that, you can either walk backwards or talk to the guy to install the Homebrew Channel DOL file. You will be prompted to press a button button to start the installation. After installation it will prompt you to press restart again to return to the Wii menu. 9. The Homebrew Channel should now be installed on the Wii menu. |
